ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization) — is an electronic travel authorization for entry into Israel for citizens of countries with a visa-free regime. It must be obtained before traveling to Israel.
The decision to issue ETA-IL is made exclusively by the Population and Immigration Authority of Israel. Paid fees are non-refundable in the event that an ETA-IL application is refused.
Usually, an ETA-IL authorization is issued within 72 hours after submitting the application and making the payment. However, depending on: the number of applications submitted, the applicant's individual situation, the processing time may exceed 72 hours.
We recommend submitting your application in advance to avoid risks before your trip.
Your ETA-IL authorization will be valid for up to 2 years or until the expiration of your current passport – whichever comes first. If you receive a new passport or change your name, gender, or citizenship, you will need to apply for a new travel authorization.
The electronic ETA-IL authorization allows you to travel to a border crossing in Israel, but does not grant you permission to enter or reside in Israel. Upon arrival at the border crossing, you will be checked by a border control officer, who may determine whether you are permitted to enter Israel.
